PSPCL plans 65 MW paddy straw based power plant in Bhatinda

Punjab State Power Corporation Ltd is planning to set up a 60-65 MW paddy straw-based power plant at Guru Nanak Dev Thermal Power Station site in Bhatinda in Punjab. The project cost is estimated at ₹ 1,500 million.

The new plant will consume around 4 lakh tonne paddy straw annually to generate electricity here. Till now straw-based power plants of up to 45 MW capacity are operational.
