Punjab FDA on drive to check adulterated foods

Punjab Food and Drug Safety Authority (FDA) has acquired food testing equipment worth of ₹ 10.0 million to check adulteration in desi ghee (Clarified butter). It has also acquired Inductively Coupled Plasma- Mass Spectrometer (ICPMS) and Gas Chromatograph – Mass Spectrometer. There is a drive to check all desi ghee manufacturers in the state to have them certified. The new equipment will also help in checking adulteration in edible oil, fruit and vegetables and other dairy products as well.
